All of us know that a movie with the title of ‘The Hunt for Gollum’ is unde development for a while. It’s story is taking place before the events of ‘The Fellowship of the Ring,’ which is another brand mew project from the same universe. Now, Lord Of The Rings screenwriter Philippa Boyens is dropping a massive update regarding the future — and that’s exactly what we were craving for!
While talking to The Empire Magazine, Philippa has officially confirmed that ‘The Hunt for Gollum’ is no longer going to land in two parts. Just in case if you don’t know then this film’s story was Rumored to be a bit too much to cover in single installment — so they were going to split it into two parts. However, it was a misunderstanding which is now coming up with an entire new announcement of a brand new project.
Lord Of The Rings Is Getting A New Project
Philippa has revealed to the Empire Magazine in her statement that they were “lost” In the process which indirectly led them for the misconception of breaking the story into two parts. As of now, they are actually developing two movies all together — one is ‘The Hunt for Gollum,’ while the other one is yet to be announced.
She said, “That was a genuine misunderstanding that happened because we’ve begun to work, conceptually, on two different live-action films. The first being The Hunt For Gollum, the second one still to be confirmed.”
While we are now getting a whole new story from The Lord of the Ri gs universe, people are getting worried for the Gollum — thinking that the writers might shrink the story. Well, you don’t need to worry about anything as Philippa believes that they’ve covered everything in one complete and solid journey.
“It’s quite an intense story, which falls after the birthday party of Bilbo and before the Mines Of Moria,” she explains. “It’s a specific chunk of incredible untold story, told through the perspective of this incredible creature.”
Not only this, but she has also teased multiple new and special anime shows or movies that could potentially land in near future if their upcoming anime project proves it’s potential this December. “We have an absolute banger of a second film that would just be incredible as an anime,” Philippa teases. “But let’s see if there’s an appetite for it.”
Well, long story short — we indeed are going to get a gold-level future from The Lord of the Rings saga. No doubts, all those theorists will be spending a quality time!
