While some of these upcoming releases have confirmed dates and are based on pre-existing properties, others are totally original ideas .

No matter the source of their storytelling, these concepts are definitely worth watching out for, amongst DreamWorks’ huge release schedule.

1) TROLLS 3 !!

The Trolls series has demonstrated how much can be achieved with the simple inspiration of a beloved toy. DreamWorks is very much in the business of sequels and thus it’s not surprising that Trolls 3 is releasing in November of 2023.

Universal Pictures and indeed the entertainment industry, in general, was impressed by the performance of Trolls World Tour and the sequel will look to follow that formula, expanding this vibrant universe further.

2) Kung Fu Panda 4 !!

Finally a fourth movie has been announced for this beloved franchise . In August 2022 , we got an official announcement and a release date of March 2024.

Part 4 will follow the further adventures of wide-eyed Po in ancient China, whose love of kung fu is matched only by an insatiable appetite.

As of now, the movie is in very active development & we might get a chance to watch it’s first look very soon !!

3) Shrek 5 !!

Currently, in development, the fifth installment in the popular franchise has had a difficult time of it, but fans will be excited to know that, as of now, it’s still happening.

Despite alterations in direction and storylines, it seems to finally be coming out of purgatory for a release sometime in early or fall 2024.

The fifth part could be a whole new Shrek story rather then that of a continuation of it’s previous parts , so there are huge possibilities of new characters inside the movie.

4) Mice And Mystics (TBD)

Jerry Hawthorne created the role-playing board game Mice And Mystics, which could on the surface be compared to Dungeons And Dragons but instead is so much more original than might first be thought.

Building up a cult following, the lore of this fictional universe has been developed with incredible detail and now DreamWorks is looking to bring that to the big screen.

From the designs of the characters to the way in which their world operates, there’s a lot to love about this game.  The producing team includes Roy Lee and Jon Berg who are linked to Vertigo Entertainment.

5) The Dog Man (TBD)

Kids’ comic books are always going to be a brilliant source for storytelling in the realms of animation, as the stunning visuals seen on the page could provide ample inspiration for what would be produced on-screen.

That’s perhaps what DreamWorks is hoping for, relying on the built-up following of Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man for one of their latest features..

Peter Hastings is already attached to direct the feature, which will be the first time he steps into the role on a major project.

He has plenty of producing and writing experience within the walls of DreamWorks though and we will let you know more about this project very soon !!

6) Megamind’s Guide To Defending Your City (TBD)

Megamind is one of the few superhero movies out there that criminally does not have a sequel. It’s hilarious, charming, and full of genuine heart.

Luckily for fans of the movie, there will be a TV show dedicated to the escapades of the blue-headed former villain.

Megamind’s Guide To Defending Your City is in production for Peacock but the format of the show is currently unclear.

Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons, who worked on the original movie, will be part of the producing team. It’s not currently known whether the cast will return but Megamind is described as a new superhero influencer.

7) Abominable And The Invisible City (TBD)

Megamind won’t be the only popular DreamWorks film getting a show over on Peacock.

Abominable, which was actually produced in conjunction with Pearl Studio and based upon a yeti-style creature, will be gifted its own ongoing series titled The Invisible City.

While once again casting returns are currently unknown and the role of this mysterious titular city remains a mystery, some of the production team have been confirmed but might get change as well.

But in short, this show is confirmed and is set to rule over our heart once again !!

8) Ronan Boyle And The Bridge Of Riddles (TBD)

A gorgeously deep children’s book with great illustrations and a stunning world to explore,

DreamWorks is eyeing up this Irish, magical comedy and has acquired the rights to produce a film based upon it.

With a visual style already in place to copy and the script being worked on by New York Times Best Seller Lennon himself, this should be a surefire success. The piece is being directed by Fergal Reilly.

So these are some of the best upcoming dreamwork movies which are set to release in the near future. You can check some of the best movie updates on our website and make sure to subscribe to our weekly News-letter which is absolutely FREE !!
