While 2023 was full of ups and downs for the Hollywood, movie-goers should get excited because 2024 is going to deliver us some of the most anticipated and phenomenal projects. Some of these upcoming movies are going to introduce us with a new concept, while many are going to surprise us with their cameos and actions.
Not only Marvel or Disney, but studios like A24 and Universal Pictures are going to celebrate next year with their masterpiece. From January to December, here’s a list of some selected upcoming movies of 2024 that are going to establish some new milestones for the box office!
IF !!
Landing straight from the world of imaginations, IF is going to be a very special and unique movie for all of us. Starring our talented Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming in lead, IF’s full form is ‘Imaginary Friends’.
The movie is based upon our imaginations with tons of CGI based characters. During our childhood, we used to talk to our imaginary friends; sometimes they were our heroes, while other times they were our best companions. But what happens to them when we grow up?
That’s the question this latest installment of Ryan Reynolds is based upon. Cailey Fleming is a teenage girl who can see these imaginary friends in real life. Things went wrong when she discovered that hundreds of IF’s are now looking for their new companions since their kids grew up.
One of them is ‘Blue’, who was the true friend of our Ryan. The movie covers the journey of Cailey and Ryan where they go on a hunt of all these IF’s and gathers them in order to provide them a new space where they can live happily and peacefully.
During their mission, they also tries to reunite some of them with their kids but is it going to happen? That’s the question for which we have to watch this special and heart warming movie.
IF is being directed by John Krasinski and is set to hit theatres in May 2024. The movie will also feature Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Steve Carell and others.
Deadpool 3 !!
One of the most anticipated movies of all time is none other then our Deadpool 3. This movie is going to decide the faith of the Marvel Cinematic universe, and why not, after all we are getting the epic duo of Wolverine and Deadpool once again.
Deadpool 3 is set to hit your nearby theatres on July 26, 2024 and it is under very active state of development. Many reports and updates are already trending on all over the internet and almost all of them are revealing many new and exciting news about this project.
From the cameo of multiple X-Men characters to the debut of our Taylor Swift as Dazzler in the MCU, Deadpool 3 is going to smash every single record of the box office history.
We should also note that despite being produced by Disney, Deadpool 3 is going to contain a lot of hard language so if you are planning to watch it with your little kids then think twice!
As of now, the rumored cameos includes Elektra, Deadpool’s son, Dazzler, Loki, young Professor X, TVA members along with some other variants of both Wolverine and our Wade. Keep an eye on us because we will be sharing everything related to this masterpiece.
Madame Web !!
Marvel is not the only studio who is busy in building hype for it’s future phases, Sony is also developing it’s own Spider-Verse and things will take a wild turn with it’s upcoming project of Madame Web.
Starring the talented Dakota Johnson, charming Sydney Sweeney, talented Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott and others, Madame Web is going to show a female powerhouse of the Spider-Verse. The movie will release on February 14, 2024 and while the studio has already released it’s official trailer, some new reports are suggesting that two important and unexpected cameos might land by the end of this movie.
Now it can be either of Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire but we should wait a bit more because anything or everything is possible in this multiverse.
Civil War !!
Marvel’s Captain America : Civil War was a box office success but this Civil War is very different!
Produced by the A24 studio, which is growing it’s fan-base with every new project, this movie will land in theatres on April 26, 2024. As the trailer reveals, Kirsten Dunst stars as a journalist living in a near future in which 19 states have seceded from the Union, with Western Forces (including California and Texas) and the Florida Alliance among those in the conflict. Meanwhile, the three-term President of the United States, played by Nick Offerman, has ordered air strikes on U.S. soil against these forces.
Apart from Kirsten Dunst and Nick Offerman, the cast of Civil War also includes Cailee Spaeny, Wagner Moura, Stephan McKinley, Sonoya Mizuno, Jared Shaw and others.
Civil War is going to be a treat for those who love to watch a documentary-style movie, and the fact that it’s bringing some of the most talented faces in it’s cast means that this movie will definitely perform exceptionally on box office.
Joker: Folie à Deux !!
The next big project in our list is none other then Joker: Folie à Deux. The movie is going to introduce us with a new face of our beloved Harley Quinn. We knows that Margot Robbie was playing this character for years, however, now in this James Gunn’s rebooted universe, this character will be played by the multi-talented Lady Gaga.
While we all are waiting for it’s first teaser trailer, studio has already revealed it’s official poster where we can see a deep connection between our Joker and Harley.
As per now, the movie is going to take place in the Gotham city where our Joker and Harley are already struggling with their mental health. Not a lot is currently known about this movie but we will be getting tons of musicals in the movie.
As per the reports of The Hollywood Reporter, Joker: Folie à Deux will showcase a romantic chemistry between Harley Quinn and Joker where Lady Gaga will compose a song for him while expressing her feelings and emotions.
The images, which were leaked online via various Hollywood outlets, showed Harley singing a song while Joker was passing nearby. Joker: Folie à Deux will release on October 4, 2024 and it seems like the DC studio will deliver it just on time.
Venom 3 !!
If we are talking about the Spider-Verse then it’s almost impossible to not talk about the Venom. Played by Tom Hardy, Venom 3 is set to hit theatres on November 8, 2024 and according to the actor himself, this is going to be his last and final Venom movie.
Venom 3 will take place in the Sony universe but it will eventually connect itself with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to some latest reports, Eddie might make a time jump to find the Tom Holland Spider-Man because he thinks that Peter Parker was responsible for his dimensional slip in Spider-Man No Way Home.
While the exact plot is still under wraps, we can expect some surprising cameos and a deadly battle along with some new or familiar faces. In fact, Hollywood insiders like Variety and Screen Rant are even claiming that some faces from the MCU are definitely going to make an appearance, however, we should wait to get an official confirmation.
Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire !!
Who hates MonsterVerse? Well, Godzi is returning with Kong to excite you once again with their latest installment ‘Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire’. Starring Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House, the movie is set to land on April 12, 2024.
The studio has revealed its first full-length trailer, and we can clearly spot the Scar King, who is going to be the new and main villain for this movie.
As per the trailer, we can say that the movie is going to show how Scar King is ruling over the underworld of monsters while exploiting their older and younger generations. Due to a lack of supplies, he is now trying to capture the outer world, but Godzilla and Kong will not allow him to do so.
The thing that makes this movie very special is the fact that our Godzi and Kong are going to be on the same side, and together they will try to die hard to defeat the Scar King.
