Sing 3 is officially in development inside the Illumination studio and this final part of Sing franchise is going to surprise you with its new plotline and characters. Well, these are not our words because it has been confirmed by the Chief of Illumination Studios itself.
We will reveal everything that has been confirmed about Sing 3 so far, whether it is the release date, new characters, plotline, cast and everything. So let’s jump, right in !!
What Is The Release Date Of Sing 3?
In an interview with ‘The Hollywood Reporter‘, Illumination CEO and Founder Chris Melandadri has officially confirmed that Sing 3 is officially under works. Well we knew that it will happen at some point in the near future, but we were not expecting it to land within the two years of its second part.
So talking about the release date then there are some hints which are coming through various Hollywood reports and channels. There was a gap of five years between the first two movies, however, it was due to various reasons.
Now as per the reports, the script of the movie was in active development before the writers strike, but due to the ongoing strike, the process of script writing has been delayed. However, Illumination is confident about its production and is claiming to finish the writing work by the end of 2023 for sure.
If it happens then the movie will go into production by the March of 2024 and will complete both of its filming and production by the end of 2024.
Hence, a release date of somewhere in 2025 seems almost confirmed for Sing 3. However, we still have to wait a bit more for its official Announcement, but as per now, the movie may release in 2024 without any further delays.
What Is The Plot Of Sing 3?
The very first question that comes in our minds as soon as we hears the word ‘sequel’ is the plotline. So what’s really going to happen in the third film? Will the studio introduce a whole new adventure?
Well, there are two possibilities for Sing 3, and both of them are equally likely to happen. According to the first plot, the threequel may explore the aftermath of the team’s success and expand on the story of how The Majestic tries to capitalize on their talents.
It will also give a chance to the studio to introduce some new characters in the franchise, and hence, a whole new adventure and fun. However, neither the studio nor any other officials has confirmed yet that whether or not they will introduce any new character in this franchise.
The second plot looks even more promising and exciting. According to this, it is possible that Buster and the rest of the core group has disbanded due to an unknown reason, thus leading to a threequel centered around the group’s reunion for another show.
A reunion plot for Sing 3 will allow a more compelling storyline while also highlighting the group’s core dynamic, which is also a unique feature for which Sing franchise is known. Only time will tell that what exactly is happening in Sing 3, but one of these two plots are definitely going to be the part of this threequel whether directly or indirectly.
What Happened At The End Of Sing 2?
By the end of Sing 2, Buster Moon and the gang hop aboard a bus back home. Suki shows up and hurriedly stops the bus, trying to get Buster’s attention. This is a nice throwback to the opening sequence of the movie, where Buster rode his bicycle up to her car on the road.
Suki confirms that The Majestic are interested in signing the group – with confirmed new members Clay, Porsha and Nooshy involved too. Clay nods in approval as the rest of the group agree to go as well. The group are a big hit and it looks like the sky’s the limit for our group.
As the movie fades to credits, it’s also worth noting that there’s no mid or post-credit sequence. There is an amusing little animation of Miss Crawly searching for her eyeball though, which is amusing enough to stick around for if you enjoyed the movie!
Who Is In The Cast Of Sing 3?
Sing franchise has a perfect storyline and characters, but it is also known for it’s outstanding star cast which has played an important role in making the Sing franchise even more memorable. We can never imagine a single Sing character without it’s original voice so the casting is also a very vital part of this franchise.
Well, here’s a good news for you. Chris Melandadri has officially confirmed that the whole cast is returning to voice their respective characters. It mainly includes:-
- Scarlett Johansson as Ash the porcupine
- Reese Witherspoon as Rosita the pig
- Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon
- Taron Egerton as Johnny
- Tori Kelly as Meena
- Bono as Lion Clay Calloway
Apart from this we may also see some new faces because studio will definitely introduce some new characters in the movie, so the things will get clear by time. We will make sure to update you as soon as we gets anything official.
