Joker 2 Will Give A Musical Experience
We knows that Lady Gaga is going to play the role of Harley Quinn in Joker 2, so it makes sense if we talks about the musicals.
We knows that Hildur Guðnadóttir was the one who wrote the score for the original Joker movie, and it has received a lot of love from both critics and fans. So as soon as she got casted as the composer for Folie à Deux, we knew that something different wis definitely going to happen.
Now recently in a interview with the ComicBook.com, she has confirmed that Joker 2 will contain multiple different surprises that she’s planned for the fans and they are going to love these gifts for sure.
“All I can say is there is going to be a lot of music,” Guðnadóttir said, “That’s all I can give away.”
Also the famous Star Zazie Beetz has commented on the film being a musical by noting this decision as “makes wonderful sense” while praising director Todd Phillips for his “creative approach to the character”:

I actually think it makes wonderful sense. I wasn’t really surprised by that. Todd [Phillips] has always had a creative approach to the character. I love musicals, and I think of them as the characters are feeling and experiencing so much that they can only sing and dance about it, whether in sorrow or in joy.
The idea of Joker 2 being a musical isn’t that hard for one to wrap their mind around as Phoenix’s co-star is none other than Grammy award winner Lady Gaga, who will be playing Joker’s chaotic love interest Harley Quinn.
If rumors to be believed then Harley Quinn will be receiving around two to three songs in total, where one of them is going to be dedicated to her complete life story. The reports further claims that one of these songs will feature her interest in Joker where she may be revealing her feelings to the world.
We can also trust on these reports because we’ve already seen some behind the scene images that were leaked online directly from the sets of Joker 2. In the leaked footages and images, Lady Gaga was seen as singing a song in the Gotham where Joker was also passing by near her.
The video is available on all over the social media, so you can check it out whenever you want. But in short, those footages were enough to confirm that the songs or musicals of Joker 2 are definitely going to give a whole new vibes to it’s fans.
Joker 2 Release Date: When Will It Come Out?
Originally, Joker: Folie à Deux is set to debut in theaters on October 4, 2024, but there are many other factors which may affect the release schedule of this beautiful movie.
While the filming of this movie has been wrapped up in April 2023, some external factors are now affecting it’s production state and the biggest of all is the ongoing writer’s and actor’s strike. This strike is affecting almost every project in the Hollywood and we’ve seen how the studios are now delaying their movies to settle it.
Despite finishing the filming of Joker 2, there are many other tasks which has to be completed on time in order to ensure the release of this movie as per the scheduled dates. It mainly includes the work of reshoots, which plays a very important role for every movie.
We knows that super hero studios believes in producing a perfect movie where they can show the beauty of their creation, in order to do that, they goes through many reshoots to make their movie look as the masterpiece.
Since Joker 2 has wrapped up it’s filming, some initial reports are claiming that the studio wants to reshoot some of their action sequences, but it is not possible due to the ongoing strike of SAG-AFTRA.
If this strike continues to a long duration of time, then we can expect a delay in the release of Joker 2. But if the studio moves forward without any kind of reshoots, then we can easily expect this movie to land in theatres on October 2024.

What Is Happening In Joker 2?
We knows how our beloved Joker was thrown into Arkham Asylum at the end of his first movie where a lot might happen with this character. So it’s obvious that we will be taking a trip back to the most famous prison/mental facility in the DC Comics.
According to the reports of various trusted websites, a major portion of Joker 2 will be taking place in this Asylum. With the prison rumored to play a big role in the story after the Joker was first incarcerated at the end of his 2019 solo movie, many new faces might debut in the sequel.
If rumors to be believed then Harley Quinn will be seen as a patient of Arkham rather than the doctor assigned to help the Joker.
It also confirms a major change that is taking place in Joker 2 where the major portion of this story was taking place for so many years in the prison.
While story details beyond that are scarce, this new adventure should be fairly contained as the iconic comic book pair work their way through the Asylum and learn about each other’s wild and insane tendencies.
We should also focus on the title of this sequel, because it itself is saying a lot about the movie. The title of the movie is Folie à Deux, and if we looks into it deeply then it means “delusion or mental illness shared by two people in close association”.
But in short, we now knows that Joker 2 will showcase our duo building their insanity with Arkham and Gotham serving as the focal point for the plot.
When Is The First Trailer Coming?
Now this is the question for which almost each one of us is excited. After all, the only possible way to bring the clarity in our minds is to watch a glimpse from the movie.
Since the movie is set to hit theatres on October 4, 2024, we should not expect any trailer before the early 2024. That’s because the studios usually releases their first short teaser before seven to eight months of the scheduled release date.
It makes the time period between the months of February to April a perfect window for releasing the first official short teaser trailer for Joker 2. However, we may also get some kind of poster or first look image by the end of this year itself, but it again depends upon the present situations of the Hollywood.

Who Is In The Cast?
The next big thing that we want to know is the casting of Joker 2. Luckily, we should not worry much about it because DC Studio is known for introducing a perfect cast in it’s universe.
While only a trio of stars from the first movie are confirmed to be back for Joker 2, there will also be a host of newcomers joining this Elseworlds sequel for a wild and crazy ride. So the main cast of Joker 2 includes Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
Apart from these two legends, we are also getting Brendan Gleeson in an undisclosed role. He has officially joined the cast back in the September of 2022. If you don’t know then he is known for his role as Mad-Eye Moody in the legendary Harry Potter series.
Next comes our two-time Oscar-nominee Catherine Keener who is joining the DC Universe with her first live-action superhero role. Next comes the 26-year-old Jacob Lofland who is also playing an undisclosed role in Joker 2 as part of this all-star cast of actors.
The movie will also feature Harry Lawtey in an undisclosed supporting role, adding to the actor’s resume after appearing in just over a dozen other projects.
Currently, Lawtey is best known for his TV roles in Industry and You & Me, both of which feature him as a leading character.
Apart from these actors, we may see some unfamiliar faces as well, but these faces are still under wraps and may play an important role in the movie as well. But as of now, Joker 2: Folie a Deux is looking very promising and we can’t really wait to watch it in theatres.
